About Zonuko
The essentials at a glance.
What is Zonuko?
Zonuko is a UK platform for home educating families, with hands on projects for children aged 6 to 16 that are grounded in STEAM.
Projects are designed to help children build real things, solve problems, grow in confidence and develop practical real life skills using everyday materials.
What ages is Zonuko for?
Zonuko is designed for children aged 6 to 16.
Projects are shaped around different stages so children can work at a level that feels appropriately challenging and manageable.
Is Zonuko tutoring or exam prep?
No. Zonuko is not tutoring and it is not built around exams.
It is a practical, project based way for children to build confidence, independence and real life skills through learning by doing.
Will it suit a child who is creative rather than technical?
Yes.
Zonuko is grounded in STEAM, not limited by it. That means projects can involve design, making, storytelling, creativity, problem solving and practical thinking, not just science or coding.
How it fits family life
The practical questions parents usually ask first.
How much time do projects take?
Most projects take between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on your child's stage and the type of project.
Some can be done in one sitting, while others can be spread across the week.
Do I need special materials or equipment?
No.
Projects are designed around everyday materials you are likely to already have at home, with clear supply lists so you know what you need before you start.
How much preparation is involved for me?
Very little.
Zonuko is designed to reduce the amount of planning parents have to do. Projects come with clear steps and simple materials, so you can spend less time searching for ideas and more time helping your child get started.
How much screen time does it involve?
Screen time is kept light and purposeful.
Children may use the platform to view a project, follow guidance, or reflect on what they made, but the main focus is on practical hands on activity away from the screen.
Will my child need constant supervision?
Not usually.
Many projects are designed so children can work independently where appropriate, with clear guidance on when adult help may be needed.
Will this work if my child sometimes gives up easily?
That is exactly the kind of growth Zonuko is designed to support.
Projects help children build confidence by trying, testing, adapting and learning that it is okay not to get everything right first time.
Do children have to follow the project exactly?
No.
Zonuko is not about copying an example perfectly. Projects are there to give children a starting point, then encourage them to think critically, try their own ideas, and create something that is truly theirs.
If a child finds a better way, a more inventive design, or a more creative approach, that is part of the learning that lasts.
Safety and joining
What to expect before Zonuko opens more widely.
Is Zonuko safe for children?
Yes. Safety and parent control are built in from the start.
There is no direct messaging, no open social features, and sharing is optional and moderated.
What can parents control?
Parents stay in control of account settings and sharing choices.
Nothing needs to be shared publicly, and Zonuko is designed to give children room to grow without exposing them to open online interaction.
What do founding families get?
Founding families help shape Zonuko in its early stage and hear from us first as access opens up.
They get early updates, early access when the platform opens, and the chance to join at the founding price while their membership remains active.
What happens after I join the founding families?
Once you join, you will hear from us with updates and next steps as Zonuko moves closer to launch.
You do not need to do anything straight away. Joining simply means you want to be among the first families to hear when access opens.
When does access begin?
Zonuko is currently in its early stage, with founding families joining ahead of wider access.
That means the site is not fully open for general member use yet, but founding families will be first to hear when access begins.
